Giant African Millipede – July’s Sea Star

The giant African millipede (GAM) is our Sea Star for July!

A GAM can grow to more than a foot long. They have more than 200 legs.

GAMs eat rotting plant material that they turn into dirt.

To defend themselves, GAMs curl up into a ball. They will also secrete a fluid called from segments in their body to deter predators.
