Hours of operation
The Denny Sanford Family Splash Pad operates Memorial Day through Labor Day. It is currently closed for the season.
It will open 30 minutes after the zoo opens, closing 30 minutes prior to zoo closing.
Splash Pad access is included with zoo admission.

What to know before you go:Welcome to the all new Splash Pad at Great Plains Zoo!
Please review our Splash Pad rules prior to your visit and remember to have fun and always be respectful of others:
- No running
- Children not toilet trained and incontinent adults must wear snug plastic pants or swim diaper under swimsuit/clothing.
- All participants must wear appropriate, family-friendly swim attire.
- Children under 12 must be supervised by a person at least 16 years of age.
- There must be one adult per every five children.
- Do not cover water features or drains.
- No glass containers or breakable objects allowed on splash pad.
- Keep towels and extra clothing off splash pad.
- Swim footwear is recommended as the surface may be hot.
- People with communicable diseases, open wounds, or recent diarrhea should not use the splash pad.
- Alert nearby Zoo/City staff in case of first aid needs or maintenance concerns.
Warning: No lifeguard on duty. Play at your own risk.
Splash Pad Amenities
Restroom & Bathhouse Facilities
Restrooms in the Splash Pad bathhouse are open year-round and features two family restrooms, one of which is equipped with an adult changing table.

Haystack Body Dryer
A full-sized haystack body dryer located near the bathhouse is available for an additional $5 fee. The dryer can hold up to 5 individuals at once and is ADA accessible.
Concessions
A delightful array of snacks and beverages are available for purchase at the Splash Pad concession stand.

Sip, splash, and savor the moment with a cold, crisp draft beer from the Splash Pad beer station. Be sure to try this year's all new Fernson Zoo Brew!
