Seasonal Maintenance Worker

Come join us at the Great Plains Zoo as a Seasonal Maintenance Worker!  This full-time or part-time seasonal position will assist with the repair and maintenance of Zoo buildings, grounds and exhibits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of various items including fencing, hardware, structures, etc.
  • Assist with the trimming, mowing and weed control of the Zoo.
  • Assist with the set up and tear down of tables and chairs for Zoo-sponsored events, meetings and other activities.
  • Assist with cleaning the interior spaces including floors, windows, restrooms, fixtures and other surfaces.

Qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of and physical ability to use equipment used in cleaning and maintaining grounds and facilities.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.

This position includes weekend hours and may include work in environments that are dusty/dirty and in varying weather and temperature conditions.

Candidates must be able to possess valid driver’s license and pass a background check prior to employment.  

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or immigration status will be required upon employment. Criminal convictions are not an absolute bar to employment, but will only be considered in relation to specific job requirements.
