Marketing Events Internship-Paid

The Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum is offering an opportunity for education and experience for tomorrow’s workforce.

The Zoo has internship opportunities available to those interested in pursuing a career in event design, marketing, and social media.

The intern program is designed to help applicants gain on-the-job experience promoting a major tourist attraction through marketing and social media campaigns, as well as gate-driving special events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily fun activities
  • Assist in event planning, setup, and execution
  • Collaborate on social media campaigns
  • Photography and videography

Schedule is generally 30-40 hours for 12 weeks and can be extended beyond this period. Must complete a minimum of 400 hours. Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required. Most of our events take place on weekends and some happen after hours. However, scheduling exceptions can be addressed on a case-by-case basis. This is an on-site internship.

Interns must take directions well and pay careful attention to procedures and established protocols.

They should follow instructions and carry out their responsibilities in a safe and careful manner in order to avoid injury to themselves, to employees, to visitors, and to the animals.

This intern should have exceptional written and verbal skills with knowledge of content creation for the web and social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. • The museum gives you a break from the sun on hot summer days and has a great selection of animal exhibits from around the world. ¬†The zoo keeps growing and adding new animal habitats or improving existing ones. ¬†Membership offers reciprocal benefits to other zoos around the country.
