April Penguin of the Month: Iago

Meet Iago, April’s Penguin of the Month!

Iago was born in 2002. He is recognizable from his red arm band. He is currently without a mate, but he is best friends with Oliver, another single male penguin.

Iago sets a good example by being the first to hop on the scale to be weighed. He likes to put toys in his nest, and he’s good at incubating eggs – even if they aren’t his own. Iago has been known to incubate rocks and toys.

You can usually find Iago and Oliver toward the back of the penguin habitat, next door to Pippa and Quince.
