Families to Enjoy Music from DJ Sieff at Zippity Zoo Day

The Great Plains Zoo will be rocking on Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for its annual summer children’s carnival, Zippity Zoo Day. The fun-filled family day includes children’s music from DJ Sieff, inflatable jumpers, face painting, carnival games, Zookeeper talks, and opportunities to get up-close to Zoo animals. 

 “Zippity Zoo Day continues to be an event that families look forward to attending year after year,” said Elizabeth A. Whealy, President and CEO of the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History. “It’s an entertaining day of music, games and inflatables coupled with opportunities you can only find at the Great Plains Zoo.”

Zippity Zoo Day schedule will include:
•    Music from DJ Sieff, face painting, carnival games and inflatables throughout the event (Primate Lawn)
•    Zookeeper Chats 
      o    Koala at 10:30 a.m. (Koala Wilds Exhibit)
      o    Amur Tiger at 11:30 a.m. (Asian Cat Exhibit)
      o    Koala at 1:30 p.m. (Koala Wilds Exhibit)
      o    Black Bear at 3 p.m. (Black Bear Exhibit)
•    Creature Features at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Zoo Plaza)
•    Bookworms Reading Program at 1 p.m. (KELOLAND Education Center)
•    Primate animal feeding at 2 p.m. (Primate Building)
•    Feed a Giraffe ($5) at 2 p.m. (African Savannah)

Zippity Zoo Day is free with Zoo admission. The Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Visit the Zoo online at www.greatzoo.org or call 605-367-7003 for more information about the Zoo and Museum.
